In the mid-1970s, a shadow was cast over the brilliant counterculture that peaked in 1969. One builder silently faced choppers in the holy land of custom bikes, Southern California.
His name was Dick Allen and he was a renowned genius and a party animal, a man whose unheard-of words and actions branded him an eccentric. The out-and-out biker earned respect even from 1%ers.
Fast forward to 2021, Ryan Grossman found and laboriously restored the bike Dick Allen rode with across the U.S. - Locomotion and rode 2,800 miles (4,500 km) with it from Bay Area to Sturgis and back.
The legendary long bike revived by tireless passion of West Coast’s top genius builder becomes a clue to uncovering the pride of a custom god.
