KAG x LL Heatwave T shirt

KAG x LL Heatwave T shirt

This limited edition t-shirt came about after recent conversations between LL’s Derek and Ko Kawakami, an old LL customer and friend of Derek’s.

Konosuke (KAG) and Derek (LL).

Special collab logo on left sleeve.

Ko, now Associate Professor Kawakami at Japan’s Kurashiki University of Science and the Arts, was recently appointed as Art Director for KAG, a new gallery situated near the campus and main railway station.

Original Heatwave magazine front and inside view.

Derek was invited to contribute and item to initiate Ko's involvement at the gallery, and he came up with t-shirt design based on an article from issue #1 of Heatwave magazine, Charles Radcliffe’s groundbreaking 1966 British underground publication. Titled The Seeds Of Social Destruction, the article discussed teenage revolt from the 1950's to date (1966) -and featured nifty drawings of Ted’s, Beats, Ravers, Mods and of course, Ton Up Kids, which made their way onto the design with the magazine’s logo.

Derek also lent a helping hand with Associate Professor Ko's book, The Genealogy Of Punk, released 2024 and published by Shoshikan Kanbo.

The tee is made from 100%, cotton and was produced in Japan.
